Senior Business Analyst (Technical) – Enterprise Content Management Project - 18-month fixed term

About the role - Kōrero mō te tūranga
This role will be a member of the project team responsible for modernising MFAT’s Enterprise Content Management System taking it from SharePoint on premise to a new M365 based platform.
This project will deliver a user-friendly enterprise content management system that enables the Ministry to manage, access, share and use information more effectively in support of its foreign policy, trade, and development objectives. The role will contribute to designing and implementing solutions that align with information management policies, user needs, and legislative requirements.
The Technical Business Analyst will be a core member of the technical workstream, working alongside MFAT architecture and engineering resources and connecting with the implementation and testing vendors.
You will be a master of processes such as:
- Documenting the technical requirements, current and future state for ECM technology processes, data flows, and information mapping.
- Working alongside the business focussed BA to make sure the technical requirements trace back to the business requirements.
- Understanding the technology governance and operating processes in our complex environment.
- Bringing fresh thinking and helping others to understand the possibilities of the M365 ecosystem.
- Driving a focus on simplification and alignment, utilising your excellent stakeholder management skills.

The full salary range for this role is $104,670 and $141,612 total remuneration, inclusive of our 3% KiwiSaver employer contribution. We expect to appoint around the midpoint $123,141 – give or take depending on your level of experience.

We’d like to hear from you if you are an experienced Senior Business Analyst with the following skills and experience:
- 5 years or more experience as a Technical Business Analyst.
- Ability to translate technical concepts into plain language to help business users make informed decisions.
- Understanding of Microsoft 365 implementations, especially SharePoint Online, Teams, Power Platform, Purview.
- Experience with content or information migrations, preferred.
- Strong achievement/delivery/organisation focus – sets high standards including accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work within a hybrid agile project team.
- Knowledge of Government information management standards and processes, e.g. Public Records Act, Protective Security Requirements, is preferred.
