Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role  

 

Sitting within MFAT’s Pacific and Development Group, our Project Coordinators provide support to a range of project teams delivering in-country projects as part of the New Zealand Aid Programme. The work is incredibly varied- project coordinators work across sectors, thematic areas, and country focused-themes and usually will work on several projects at a time. 

 

The key accountabilities for this role include:

 

  • Providing guidance on a range of business processes including business case management, forecasting, budgeting, and supplier due diligence.
  • Providing best practice guidance for managing activities and contracts in Enquire, our Activity Contract Management system.

 

 

We are recruiting for two fixed-term Project Coordinators, one for a fixed-term period to June 2025 and another to a fixed-term period to September 2025.

The full salary range for this role is $70,784 to $90,466 total remuneration, inclusive of our 3% KiwiSaver employer contribution.

We’d like to hear from you if you have the following skills and experience:

 

  • Project coordination and contract managements (including administration and finance)
  • Ability to build and maintain productive working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Capacity to work on a range of projects, at different stages simultaneously and as required.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Interest in international development

 

Ideally you will also have a good understanding of tikanga (Māori customs and protocols), with the ability to weave te ao Māori (the Māori worldview) into your work.
