The Commercial Division is looking for a Commercial Relationship Coordinator who thrives on building strong relationships and enjoys working with people. This role helps shape meaningful commercial outcomes by connecting people, processes, and insights across the Ministry. You will collaborate across teams in a supportive capacity, actively contributing to ongoing capability development initiatives.

 

About the role - Kōrero mō te tūranga

 

These tasks are a general guide to what the role involves, but they don’t cover everything. The role requires flexibility, as operational needs and workload can vary throughout the year.

 

  • Support: Respond quickly and helpfully to questions relating to commercial queries and procurements. Provide clear guidance to help users find and follow commercial processes within the Business Process Portal.
  • Inbox management: Keep the commercial email inbox organised and respond to messages.
  • Process improvement: Help improve tools and templates used by the team, including updating the intranet and website.
  • Contract management: Track contracts, follow up on unsigned contracts, and flag those that are about to expire. File contracts and related documents properly.
  • Support staff with note taking, meeting organisation, official requests, analysis.

The salary range for this role is $62,940 to midpoint $72,155 total remuneration, inclusive of our 3% KiwiSaver employer contribution.  We expect to appoint depending on your level of experience.

We’d like to hear from you if you have the following skills:

 

  • Team player with strong people skills
  • Strong organisational and administration skills
  • Great communication and customer service
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, formulas, macros). Power BI is a bonus
  • Able to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks
  • Experience with procurement is helpful but not essential
  • Understanding of Te Tiriti, Te Reo Māori, and Māori customs is a bonus
