About the role - Kōrero mō te tūranga

This role will be a member of the Development Data and Systems Team (DDS). The team’s primary function is to manage and continuously improve data, systems and reporting that relate to the New Zealand IDC Programme (formerly the New Zealand Aid Programme). DDS sits within the Pacific and Development Group (PDG), which leads an integrated approach to New Zealand’s diplomatic and development engagement with Pacific countries and is responsible for the implementation of the New Zealand Aid Programme globally. More specifically, this role will be a member of the project team responsible for transitioning PDG’s Programme and Activity Management System from an older on-premise version, to a new cloud product.

The Business Analyst role is responsible for supporting detailed design, requirements gathering, system configuration, and all associated activities with designing and delivering a new enterprise system. Our environment is dynamic and the position will maintain relationships with key stakeholders across our group and work with them to ensure that our processes and systems are  fit for purpose and aligned with MFAT strategy.

• You’ll develop an enterprise understanding of our business and use your skills to facilitate change.
• You’ll translate business plans, intentions and needs into systems requirements and process designs.
• You’ll develop trusted relationships with leaders, managers and staff across the Ministry, our systems partners and other key external stakeholders.

The appointment range for this role is $124,674 to $146,675 (inclusive of 3% KiwiSaver employer contribution) depending on experience.

We’d like to hear from you if you are an experienced technical business analyst with the following skills and experience:

• A minimum of  5 years’ experience as a business analyst or consultant and at least 3 years working with enterprise systems
• Experience in eliciting and documenting system requirements.
• Experience in successfully deploying process and system changes in a complex and changing environment.
• Experience in developing and maintaining relationships and working effectvely with staff at all levels of the organisation
• Understanding of The Treaty of Waitangi/Te Tiriti, Te Reo Māori and Māori customs and protocols would be beneficial.
