Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
The Administration Manager is a member of the Embassy’s leadership team is responsible for contributing to the overall smooth running of the Embassy through the efficient management of the Post’s resources (human, financial, property, security, IT and other assets); the provision of consular, administration and management services.
Working directly to the Ambassador, you will be responsible for:
- People management: you’ll enjoy the autonomy to manage, support, coach and allocate work to nine locally employed staff.
- Human resources: your assistance and advice will be valued by other managers, including with recruitment and induction of staff, monitoring local employment issues and legislation, and overseeing the transfer of staff to and from MFAT headquarters.
- Finance: monitor Embassy expenditure and provide MFAT with relevant operating budget information to optimise resources.
- Property: manage several leased properties and oversee the purchase and maintenance of assets and facilities.
- Health and safety: you’ll keep staff safe by ensuring they are aware of health and safety practices and by maintaining the Embassy’s contingency (crisis response) planning.
- Post administration: you’ll relish the variety of the role.
- Consular assistance to New Zealanders.
- Providing support to co-located New Zealand Trade and Enterprise.
- Building strong working relationships internally and externally.

The appointment range for this role PHP 1,108,722 to PHP 1,500,036 – negotiable depending on experience.

We’d like to hear from you if you are an experienced Administration or Office Manager, with the following skills and experience:
- Relevant business or formal qualification and/or significant previous successful experience and knowledge of running the administration of an office, including HR guidance, property and finance management.
- Strong team management and networking skills.
- Ability to anticipate issues and problems, to think beyond an immediate issue to consider longer term implications and to clearly identify what needs to be done.
- Self-motivated worker who can show initiative, a can-do attitude and sound judgement.
- Well-developed planning and organisational skills, including accuracy and attention to detail.
- Values alignment – we value integrity, impact, high-performance, and collegiality.
You must have the right to live and work in the Philippines to apply for this role.
